Introduction
The Armory is a Marine structure used to supply free health and ammo, purchase equipment with Personal Resources, and research new weapons.
Tactics
Armories are buildings available for the marine commanders from the beginning of the game. Multiplicity of abilities in conjunction with their relatively low price make armories very versatile structures.
In the early game armories are used to provide Welders to marine team, and, after research, possibly Mines and Shotguns. Therefore, the first armory is usually placed in the base, though more offensively inclined commanders may use it to support a forward outpost, though it comes with a risk of losing research and delaying the development of phase gates.
In the later game, armories are commonly used to strengthen and secure forward outposts, also in the role of "armory blocks", which means armories placed in doorways in such a way that they effectively block Onos and obstruct the movement of other alien lifeforms, but leaving sufficient space for a marine to pass. It is also common to place an armory in a direct neighborhood of phase gates to provide support for marines moving through them.
Less common use of armories is to provide easier access to places like vent entrances or high-mounted pipes.
An armory (with an Observatory) is required to develop phase gate tech.
Tactical Summary - Armory
- Armories can be used to support common points of defense like vicinity of phase gates.
- Armory block is the use of armory to obstruct movement through a doorway. Good placement allows marines to pass by, while preventing onoses to enter and making it hard for fades and lerks to speed through.
Abilities
Weapon Drop
Weapons and Welders dropped by players within 4m of an Armory will not decay. Does not apply to Rifles.
The Marine Commander can Drop Weapons within 10m of an Armory.
Resupply
While looking at the armory as a Marine you will resupply:
Refilling every 0.8 seconds:
- 25 health points
- 1 Ammo Clip
- removes Lerk Bite poison effect
When marines use an armory, they get access to the buy menu:
- Welders, and all basic starting equipment are available at the armory without additional research
- The following weapons are available after additional research:
Research
There are three different techs available for research in the Armory. All three can also be researched in the Advanced armory.

Tactics
An Advanced armory is an expensive building available mid to late game. Therefore it is usually built in the main base and serves its basic purposes: providing advanced weaponry and unlocking the prototype lab.
Due to its cost, commanders sometimes decide to recycle the advanced armory after building a prototype lab, to speed up the development of exosuits or jetpacks.
Tactical Summary - Advanced Armory
- Advanced Armories provides the Marines with specialized weapons, make sure you take the one best suited for your role in the team!
