Introduction[]

A complex situated on top of a rocky mountain which holds a satellite control center. Veil is a remake of the popular NS1 map of the same name. It started as a community made map.

How to play[]

Aliens[]

Sub-Sector Start[]

Try to get a Tunnel, two Harvesters, and possibly a Crag up Nano Grid and a Harvester in Cargo. Do not capture Overlook early on, Marines will push it and you will lose it. It becomes viable in later stages of the game. Expand to whichever Hive location is most realistically defendable, usually that is Cargo. Patrol East/West Junction regularly as long as you hold Nano Grid to prevent ARCs from clearing it out.

Cargo Start[]

Try to get a Tunnel, two Harvesters, and possibly a Crag up Nano Grid and a Harvester in Sub-Sector and/or Pipeline. Try to deny Phase Gates in System Waypointing and The Dome. Expand to whichever Hive location is most realistically defendable. Patrol East/West Junction regularly as long as you hold Nano Grid to prevent ARCs from clearing it out.

Pipeline Start[]

Try to get a Tunnel, two Harvesters, and possibly a Crag up Nano Grid and a Harvester in Cargo. Do not capture C-12 early on, Marines will push it and you will lose it. It becomes viable in later stages of the game. Expand to whichever Hive location is most realistically defendable, usually that is Cargo. Patrol East/West Junction regularly as long as you hold Nano Grid to prevent ARCs from clearing it out.

Marines[]

Try to capture one lane, while cutting the Cyst-chain to Nano Grid in System Waypointing, Y Junction or The Dome depending on starting Hive location. If possible deny Nano Grid. Most common Phase Gate locations are System Waypointing, The Dome and Nano Grid, depending on captured Hive locations and state of the game.

    • Nano Grid can be cleared out with ARCs from here.
  • System Waypointing
    • Popular location for a Phase Gate because it allows to secure Sub-Sector and push towards Nano Grid and Cargo.
  • The Dome
    • Popular location for a Phase Gate because it allows to secure Pipeline and push towards Nano Grid and Cargo.

Trivia[]

  • The entrance to the secret room on Veil is behind the orange pipes next to the Alien area in the Ready Room.
  • The vent between Overlook and Skylights can be accessed by Trickjumps from both Overlook and West Junction.
Nano Grid
If the Tunnel in Nano Grid is placed like this, and upgraded to Infested Tunnel, both Harvesters are immune to de-cysting.
